Buck Reilly’s vacation in the Virgin Islands goes downhill fast when he witnesses a helicopter crash over the Francis Drake Channel. Buck races to the rescue, but the lone survivor—a beautiful woman—has amnesia. When Buck learns the woman is Giselle Huibert, the First Lady of France, who fled her husband while at the G8 Summit on St. Thomas for reasons she cannot remember, Buck has no choice but to try and help her. However, Giselle refuses to let him call the police—even when it becomes clear that men intending to kill them are hot on their trail.

When Giselle remembers the horrifying assault she witnessed her husband and his head of security commit, and the events that led to her helicopter crashing, she and Buck are forced to flee throughout the Virgin Islands, with no one to trust but a group of unlikely heroes.

Fueled by their mutual passion, revenge against her husband, and their quest for the truth, Buck and Giselle turn the tables on their pursuers, but the final showdown rocks them to their core and challenges everything they believed to be true.

I’ve been a Buck Reilly fan since the beginning. All the books are great, but White Knight takes things to a new level. The story flies faster than Buck’s old seaplane, and the plot pounds you like a hammer at each new turn. John Cunningham runs his character through international intrigue that provides non-stop action right up until the end. The British Virgin Islands are used authentically, as well as the various boats mentioned. The characters are so real you’ll think you’re watching a movie instead of reading a book. Simply outstanding!

I love how John has evolved this series into worldwide international thrillers without forsaking the Keys treasure, boats, and planes vibe. As Buck is thrust into further turmoil over his heritage the plot twists and turns, taking his faithful group and vintage seaplane to incredible European destinations, steeped in history and treachery. I loved every page of this adventure.

John Cunningham does it again with a Buck Reilly tale that keeps the pages moving. It is both entertaining and informative regarding Key West’s earliest founders, but not all treasure is silver and gold.
