Buck is asked to come to Italy by Sir Harry Greenbaum, his former main investor, and old family friend, to do a flyover at the beginning of the Formula 1 race in Monza. Turns out the real reason Harry asked him to come was to help him combat organized crime members intent on forcing their way into his pending investment into one of the Formula 1’s most historic teams. When Harry gets kidnapped, Buck is forced to scour northern Italy searching for him and negotiating with his captors.

If everything isn’t settled by the end of the race in Monza, Harry and Buck’s lives are jeopardy, but when they try to outmaneuver the head of the crime syndicate, thousands of lives are thrust into immediate danger. Buck’s race against time leads to more surprises than he ever anticipated.

I love how John has evolved this series into worldwide international thrillers without forsaking the Keys treasure, boats, and planes vibe. As Buck is thrust into further turmoil over his heritage the plot twists and turns, taking his faithful group and vintage seaplane to incredible European destinations, steeped in history and treachery. I loved every page of this adventure.

have read all the Buck Reilly books. Buck reminds of a Dirk Pitt type character but who walks more in the gray area of life but ends up does the right or wrong thing for the right reasons. In his last book Jon Cunningham style change a little bit and reminds me of style of writing by the great Dick Frances. Overall another great book
